Therapist Mechanicsville VA
Welcome!
I help women connect with their authentic selves, guiding them through the complexities of their inner world to feel worthy, heal their inner wounds, and improve their relationships with themselves and others. My approach empowers women to flourish without being held back by the weight of past trauma, people pleasing, or perfectionism, using person-centered therapy and other trauma-informed practices.
I understand that we all have different parts of ourselves that we reveal in various situations. The version of you that others see—calm, wise, empathetic, and capable—might feel very different from the person you are when you’re alone. You might appear composed and strong, but inside, you grapple with perfectionism, self-criticism, overthinking, and the burden of constantly trying to meet others’ expectations. Behind closed doors, you might struggle with feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, resentment, and a deep desire for something more.
You’re seeking to break free from these patterns, align with your true self, and live a life that feels genuine and fulfilling. My work supports you in that journey, helping you embrace all parts of yourself, find peace, and step into the life you’ve always wanted.
Therapist Mechanicsville VA
Hi there, I'm Dana
Therapist Intern in Virginia under Jenine Stallings.
I offer virtual therapy to individuals in Virginia and in-person therapy to individuals in Mechanicsville, VA.
I’m currently pursuing my Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at William & Mary, building on the foundation of my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Towson University. My experience spans all ages—as a mother of two teenage girls, a former elementary and middle school teacher, and a certified life coach. This diverse background allows me to bring a wealth of practical knowledge to my counseling practice.
I use trauma-informed principles and a person-centered approach in my work, drawing on evidence-based strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and therapeutic journaling. I’m also working toward my certification as a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, furthering my commitment to providing specialized care.
In my downtime, I love tending to my garden, spending time with my chickens and ducks, driving my teens to their many activities, baking with my gluten-free sourdough starter, and indulging in my favorite pastime of analyzing people on 90 Day Fiancé.
I currently have limited openings for clients to meet with virtually and in-person in the state of Virginia. If you are interested in working with me you can contact me directly using the button below.
